 Some people go to Vegas to gamble or for the shows but not us (although we were thrilled to experience LeReve @ the Wynn) I went to experience the food!!  I was so excited leading up to our trip because I am a huge Top Chef fan and I have watched and drooled over Top Chef Masters! We got to eat at three different Top Chef Master's restaurants! RM Seafood by Rick Moonen, Border Grill by Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Millikan, and Fleur by Hubert Keller.  Unfortunately we didn't get to dine at Tom Colicchio's.   There was just too many places we wanted to try out and not enough time!

We had no idea how big the strip was, I would have packed better shoes! Not to mention the wind, so much for the summer clothes we both packed. But it was super fun, it was great to get away especially since I have been pretty much cooped up for the last 3 months since being off work with this silly broken hand.  It was great for Dan and I to have such a positive experience traveling before the stressful trip to Korea.

FINALLY!!

Evan's paperwork has finally been submitted to the Korean embassy.  This is a huge step in the process.
We were told to expect 3-9 weeks at the Korean embassy then it moves to the US embassy and it can take less than a week to be approved. Then TRAVEL CALL!!!
We are anticipating traveling the first part of May.  How exciting.
I cannot stop making lists, lists of what to pack, in which piece of luggage, what to shop for before hand, what groceries to have stocked, what projects (honey-do) need to be complete before travel.  It could go on forever.

We have a spring break / babymoon vacation in just a few days!  I hope it will help keep my mind off the wait. this is our chance to relax before we make the big trip.

Please keep us in your prayers as we prepare, that God would prepare our hearts.

Broken hand, 25% sale until cast comes off!!

I recently broke my left hand in a freak dog walking disaster. I had surgery almost two weeks ago and now no longer need the heavy pain killers but still cannot work or do much of anything fun, no sewing, no cooking (knife skills are terrible one handed), even cutting coupons is difficult.  did i mention i have a pretty nasty dog bite on my right hand?

18 Months and Counting!

I hope we aren't forcing a life long love of Lightening McQueen but hey it could be worse.  We sent Evan a 'Cars' storybook recorded with our voices telling the story along with a little Lightening toy car.  He doesn't look too impressed but it may grow on him.

Evan Moon's current stats:

Weight: 27.5lb  (12.5kg)

 I got an extra day off of work Christmas Eve, and we got to head to Missouri early and spent a week with my family! 8 adults, 3 grandkids, 6 dogs - exhaustation!

We were so excited to received these much anticipated photos at his 16 month agency appointment on Nov 21.  He looks so happy and playful!  We know he is well taken care of!

The progress report we received was encouraging:

Weight: 11.9 kg (26 lbs)

Likes: rice, fish, fruits, and formula

Development: walks upstairs (holding rail), throws ball forward, moves on ride toys, puts tiny objects into container, builds tower, scribbles, identifies body parts, recognizes and points to four animal pictures, jabbers, imitates doing housework and other realistic activities, hows toy preference

It is getting more real that he will be coming home soon (3-4 months), nothing like registering for a stroller to make things real!  Once we start baby-proofing the house I think reality will really sink in! 

CANNOT WAIT!!
